Who is Max?

The Max Motors team is known for their exciting and unconventional practices as depicted in their former show "God, Guns, and Automobiles" which aired on the History Channel, but it is also their devotion to strong work ethic, family values, and a deep sense of patriotism that are components that have truly made Max Motors stand out.

Mark Muller, President and owner of Max Motors, has been in the car industry since age 17. After a few years in the business, he ventured on to work for John Chezik Suzuki in St. Louis where, by 1989, he played a major role in transforming the five car store into the #1 Suzuki store in the nation.  Soon after, he got into consulting and started working for MBPI and eventually began his own consulting company from which he "retired" at age 42 in Butler, Missouri.  It wasn't long before Muller realized that he had more that he wanted to accomplish, and in 2006, he came out of retirement and, with the support of his wife, Amy,  took the first step towards achieving his personal dream when he opened his own dealership, Max Motors, named for his oldest son. 

He started simple with the purchase of the local dealership in Butler, Missouri in 2006.  Within ninety days of opening his first store, Muller was already negotiating the purchase of a second, and in less than a year, he had purchased his second dealership which stands today as Max Motors of Butler: Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram.  In 2011, he expanded the business even further with the purchase of the old Guthrie Motors in Nevada, Missouri where he moved the original Butler dealership.  This store stands today as Max Motors of Nevada: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC.  Finally, in 2015, Max Motors of Harrisonville was purchased and home of the Ford Dealership and Max Motors Collision Center.  

It is thanks to the customers and employees themselves that drove Max Motors to open the brand new Collision Center in 2017.  "Our customers spoke, we listened.  Our employees spoke, we listened" and in 2017 Max Collision Center was opened in Harrisonville, Missouri.  The successful addition of Max Collision along with each of the locations' quality service centers makes Max Motors not only the "easiest place to buy a car" yet also the "easiest place to maintain a car."  

All three locations are not only located on Interstate 49 in order to add to the convenience of making Max Motors the "easiest place to buy a car" but they are also located on the distinguished "Purple Heart Highway" in order to pay tribute to those who have served our great country.  This meaningful location is a great source of pride with the Max family as it serves as a constant reminder to show their respect and gratitude to our brave servicemen and women and allows them to share this remembrance with their customers as well.  

While Muller has worked hard toward creating his empire, his team has played an integral role in creating the Max Motors name.  In addition to a team that represents the company with pride and presents quality work in all departments, he also has the privilege of building this company with the help and support of his wife, Amy, and their three sons: Max, Marco, who is a Sales Manager at the Nevada store, and Matthew, who is part of the service team in Harrisonville.  In 2017, Muller also added another member to the Max Motors family when Bob Jacaway joined the team as President.  

Throughout the years, Muller has pushed himself and his team to work hard and do what it takes create a business that they can all be proud of.  From the team members to the customers to his own family, each person who walks into Max Motors can expect to be treated like they are a part of the family and to leave feeling satisfied and secure.
